1500W BLDC motor torque speed curve

Speed - Torque Curve

  • Instantaneous maximum torque line: The maximum torque momentarily impacts the load when the motor is started. Exceeding this level triggers the driver's over-current protection, shutting down the motor.
  • Short-time operation area: The BLDC motor can operate within this torque range for limited periods at different speeds. Prolonged use generates excess heat, which may cause the motor to stop or burn.
  • Rated operating torque line: The rated torque of the motor can sustain at different speeds for continuous, long-term operation.
  • Continuous operating area: When the motor rotates at different speeds, it runs continuously in this corresponding zone.

Q: What does the gear ratio of a planetary gearbox affect?

A: The gear ratio of a planetary gearbox determines the balance between output speed and torque: a higher ratio delivers more torque at lower speeds, while a lower ratio increases speed but reduces torque. It also influences efficiency, precision, and how much load the BLDC motor can handle.
